What do volunteers do?
What don’t they do! Our volunteers provide one-to-one support through befriending, help us run groups, organise coffee meetings and chat with carers on walks and trips. We also have a small team of volunteers who take part in our work with universities, sharing their experience as carers with student social workers.
What skills do volunteers need?
Our volunteers all have a passion for making sure carers get the support they need. Many carers volunteer with us because they have had caring experience themselves and want to use this experience to help others. Our volunteers are all caring individuals who want to make a difference to the lives of others.
What support do volunteers get?
All volunteers receive training and ongoing support from a named member of staff. Many volunteers find their volunteering roles become part of their social lives.
What can I do if I want to help but I don’t have the time?
Tell your friends about us, follow us on social media and share our posts – help us raise our profile and you could help us reach out to that person in need of our help.
We’re a small charity with small budgets, so you may have fundraising ideas to help us raise funds to keep providing much needed support to carers.
Who do I contact if I am interested in volunteering?
Thank you for your interest! Please call us on 07415436382 or email and one of our team will arrange to meet with you in person or over the phone.
“Nice people, good experience, new friends”
“Phone calls are priceless. Just when you feel alone, down, stressed, a mentor rings and lifts your spirits up and you feel someone cares”.
