DEMENTIA PEER MENTORING

dementia

A diagnosis of dementia can cause a huge range of emotions in both the person with the condition, and their carer, with many carers struggling to access relevant information about the resources and support available. Our Peer Mentoring and Befriending Project aims to help break some of this isolation and gives emotional support.
We also signpost you to relevant services which may be beneficial to the carer. We are able to offer the direct support from volunteers who have themselves cared for a loved one, or telephone support from the organisation if that is more appropriate. Our Peer Mentoring Service received £24,900 from the Postcode Community Trust - a grant giving charity funded entirely by players of People's Postcode Lottery - to operate our support line for carers of people with dementia.
